Podere Castellinuzza - Chianti Classico 2018
Region: Lamole / Chianti / Tuscant
Grapes: Sangiovese with 5% Canaiolo
So; In 1962 the Coccia family bought the land their family had been making wine on since 1900. Under the guidance of the family’s Patriarch Paolo Coccia this winery has been “doing things with the heart” for a great deal of time. This is a sincere and tireless family enterprise. Aside from Paolo the rest of the family are women. Whome he credits for the wineries success. He is often quoted as saying he is “blessed among women.” I’m not crying. Your crying.
The 4 hectares or so sits on some of the highest altitude Sandstone in the Lamole. From this heavenly vantage point they produce some truly elegant and structured Chianti. Just a little wild and full of personality.
