Red fruits jump out of the glass, the palate is jubey, full of blackcurrants & ribena. There’s also some rhubarb, a touch more savoury than the previous vintage. Fine fruit tannins, red fruit crunch, fluid and highly drinkable.
NERD NOTES
100% Gamay, whole-bunch partial carbonic maceration for 7 to 10 days. Elevage on lees for 8 months.
THE PRODUCER
Philippe is a former audio engineer turned vigneron based in the city of Oudon in the Coteaux d'Ancenis region in the Western Loire Valley. The viticulture is organic and the winemaking natural with sulphur only used on occasion. While a new producer, Philippe is quickly developing an excellent reputation.
