Moreau-Naudet - Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2018

Moreau-Naudet - Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2018

Region: Chablis

Grapes: Chardonnay

An elegant and delicious Chablis, even in its youth. Notes of stone fruit and lime with more floral notes. Juicy on the palate but with plenty of structure underneath. Classy.

Nerd Notes:

Moreau-Naudet's Vaillons comes from three different parcels in the Cru. Each parcel is vinified separately, in a mix of old oak and tank, before blending.

Vaillons is part of a group of eight Crus that make up a hill situated the left bank of Le Serein. Vaillons sits on the middle-upper part of the hill with a south-east exposure, meaning plenty of that tasty morning sun. The top soil is quite shallow with a large concentration of Kimmeridgian limestone below. All this combines to make a Cru that can produce ripe fruit while retaining acidity.
