Domaine Kreydenweiss - Clos du Val d'Éléon 2017
Grapes: Riesling, Pinot Gris
This is a micro vineyard (just 0.1 ha) high in the hills, on the pure blue slate of Villé. The Reisling and Pinot Gris vines are co-planted as was previously traditional in Alsace.
Co-harvested, pressed and co-fermented until dry, then aged in very large fourdres for 18 months. Very little of this wine is made making it very rare.
Blue slate minerality rips down the palate. Very fresh and flinty with hints of stone fruit and floral notes. Complex, powerful and delicious.
