Domaine in Black - Blanc a Trois 2019
Grapes: Riesling / Pinot Gris / Sylvaner
This is direct press white from a single, 44 year old, co-planted parcel on clay soils. Fermentation and elevage were in stainless.
Really brilliant Alsatian white wine. This is very pure, with restrained fruit, and the sort of texture that comes from vineyards in one of the driest growing regions in France. The fruit is a subtle suggestion of ripe stone fruit and there is a very faint suggestion of savoury lees on the far back palate. The acidity is wonderfully supportive making the final wine incredibly well balanced. This is beyond versatile - but is truly excellent wine for daytime eating and drinking in nice weather.
