A great rendition of a Southern Italian classic, lifted by the cooler climate of the hills. There's plenty of depth, with ripe dark fruits and firm tannin as you might expect, but the tannins feel wonderfully integrated and the freshness brought about by some great acid keeps things from feeling too weighty. 14.5% abv but hides it remarkably well.

New 2021 release from Californian Winemaker Matthew Rorick, whom since 2017 has been travelling to the Barossa to craft small batches of interesting wines from interesting fruit.

Matthew's love for unloved and obscure varieties, combined with his stripped-back, bare-knuckle winemaking style have seen his small batches develop a feverish cult following in the US of A. His expertise and intuition make for a fresh take on Barossa wines.
