A lovely village level wine from the Monkeys. A fresh and juicy red wine, light to medium body and bursting with bright red fruit. Fine acid and tannins make this great alone or with lighter cured meats or even ribs.

"The grapes are typically cold macerated 50% whole cluster and 50% de-stemmed, wild yeast fermented for 30-40 days, then raised in 300, 400 and 500 liter used barrels for 9 months."
4 Monos is the project of four Madrid locals; winemakers Javier García (formerly the head winemaker at Méntrida icon Bodegas Jiménez-Landi) and Laura García, wine-lover David Velasco, and vineyard holder David Moreno. They have spent the last 10 years slowly building up their own holdings and acquiring a small winery, while still working with local organic growers.
Their focus is on organic vineyards and minimal intervention in the wine, while supporting less known local varieties such as Morenillo.
