Sieman - Mosca Bianca 2019
Region: Colli Berici / Veneto
Grapes: Moscato Bianco (Muscat a Petits Grains) and Garganega
A really interesting wine this one. Very perfumed compared to most white wines with citrus and stone fruit alongside more floral aromas. Soft and textual on the palate with nice depth and drinkability. A different style of wine for the region but really worth a try.
Sieman is the project of three brothers, (with the youngest brother actually wanting to join in and be involved NICHOLAS!) hence the name which means six hands in the local dialect. The vineyards are managed organically with a focus on local varieties. Part of the land is also allowed to remain as woodland.
The juice is left on skins for 2 days with fermentation in stainless steel before elevage in concrete tank. The wine sees no fining and only a touch of sulphite.
